On August, 20, 2024, the Taos County Board of Commissioners approved Ordinance 2024-4, the Taos County Short-Term Rental Ordinance. This Ordinance immediately repealed the Home Occupation standards for the Short-Term Rental that were previously used to regulate Short-Term Rental Units in Taos County and establishes new regulations for Short-Term Rental Units in the Unincorporated areas of Taos County. The effective date of the Ordinance will be October 19, 2024, and the County Planning Department will begin accepting applications Oct. 21, 2024. In the meantime, we will be disseminating information on this site and providing updates as we develop information and checklists that will help prepare applicants to prepare their applications to be submitted in October.
